The JL Winston Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes the scholastic achievement and intellectual advancement of students who attend historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
The foundation is dedicated to education equity by providing underserved students with a path to attending and completing college. It offers aspiring students the opportunity for a better future by providing tuition and emergency relief through scholarships, mentoring and support.

Scholarship
Rising tuitions are a daunting hurdle for many students. Our scholarships open the door to higher education by assisting undergraduate students with excellent academic standing, without restrictions on their chosen field of study.
Emergency Funding
We believe education should not be a luxury. By offering emergency funding to students whose enrollment is threatened by an unpaid balance, we provide the safety net that prevents them from dropping out of school.
Find or Become a Mentor
Mentoring partnerships are mutually beneficial and rewarding. Enjoyable and empowering, they build equal relationships that are based on shared personal and academic interests and that are characterized by trust.
Study Abroad
When students study abroad, they experience a completely new way of life, learning new languages, cuisines, customs, and traditions. The Foundation is committed to assisting students who wish to broaden their horizons with this unique type of educational experience.
